Derrick- The Rukungiri Deputy Resident district commissioner Wilberforce Ahimbisibwe Ongom has appealed to all Emyooga sacco money defaulters to repay back the money or face arrest.
He made these remarks on Wednsday while addressing the members of Rukungiri municipality Boda boda Emyooga sacco during their annual general meeting that was held at Marphie Hotel in Eastern division Rukungiri municipality.
Ongom asked members to always be careful before accepting to be securities of people going to borrow money who don’t have a plan for the money being borrowed.
Perry Owonyesigire, the Rukungiri municipal commercial officer told the Rukungiri boda boda emyooga sacco members that it’s good to find that their Sacco is among the best Emyooga saccos in Rukungiri municipality which are paying back the money in time although there are some defaulters who have totally failed to repay which is letting them down.
Owoyesingire advised members to remove politics from Emyooga saccos because that money is meant to eradicate poverty from every Ugandan by borrowing small loans with low interest.
Hassan Kansiime Ruhanga the chairperson of Rukungiri municipality boda boda emyooga Saaco thanked the government for considering boda boda cyclists to be among the beneficiaries of Emyooga program
He added that their Sacco being among the best performing Emyooga SACCOs, has already received an additional 20 million shillings in addition to the 30 million shillings which they received at first.
Rukungiri boda boda emyooga sacco has a share capital of over 60 million.
