The south Ankole Diocese Bishop Rt Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe has reshuffled Diocesan staff dropping the diocesan secretary, the dean and Diocesan treasurer.

The three top clerics were redeployed to serve as archdeacons in rural churches while rural church heads were elevated to the offices.

Bishop Ahimbisibwe announced the changes during today’s service.

I the shakeup, the Dean of St Mathew Cathedral Rev Can Joash Tushangomujuni was sent to serve in Rukoni Archdeaconry   and was replaced by Rev Can Cranmer Mwesigwa who has been serving as the Arcdeacon for Kitunga.

Rev Arthur Twinamatsiko who has been the Kibatsi Archdeacon was appointed as the Diocesan secretary replacing Rev Can Joram Ntoreine who was sent to Kitunga as Archdeacon.  

The diocesan treasurer Rev Atharia Mwebembezi has been sent to Kibatsi as archdeacon replacing Rev Twinamatsiko.

He was replaced by Rita Nyiramugisha the diocesan internal auditor and manager of the diocese SACCO.  Bishop Ahimbisbwe said the shuffle is routine  

In other transfers Rev Denis Kunywana was appointed Rugarama Archdeacon from Bishop’s office, Rev Can Alfred Turyamureba was transferred to Rukanda as archdeacon replacing the ailing Rev Eliasaph Kamugisha, Rev Can Ronald Kakye transferred from Rukoni to the new archdeaconry of Itojo while Rev John Ayamba was transferred from Itojo to Ruhaama archdeaconry.  

At the function that also marks the end of the diocesan year planner, three Rev Deacons were priested while one Female lay reader was consecrated as Rev Deacon.  

This is the first major shakeup in ten years of the existence of the diocese as all the key Reverends who have been in these positions have either maintained them or been elevated.

 Only retiring Reverends have been replaced.
