Police in Rubanda district is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 33 year Old casual worker.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman, the deceased is Niwagaba Amon 33, a casual worker resident of Rwakahindo cell Bushura Ward Hamuhambo T/Council in Rubanda district.
It’s alleged that the deceased left his home on 15/08/2022 after his wife one Natuhwera Nocianta 20 had gone to to the garden.
He did not return home but this didn’t alarm the wife as she was used to her husband going away and not returning for days.
Maat explains that on 17/08/2022 at around 1800hrs, Namara Dentia a female juvenile aged 15 saw a dead body lying in an eucalyptus plantation as she was harvesting sweet potatoes.
She reached home and informed her parents who alerted the area chairperson one Tushemerirwe Margret and the police was accordingly notified.
The Scene was visited and documented by a team of homicide officers led by Asp Echonga Bonny , the OC Station Rubanda,The body was examined and had no physical injuries
Postmortem was done and the body was handed over to relatives for burial.
Inquiries are ongoing.
