Students and staff of Buyanja Grammar school on Wednesday conducted a general cleaning exercise around Rukungiri town to improve sanitation around, as they prepare to celebrate silver jubilee.
The cleaning exercise started from the municipal headquarters to various roads including Karegyesa and Republic Road among other places in Rukungiri.
This coincided with the launch of their silver jubilee celebrations on 7th October and a fundraising which intends to raise funds for the construction of the science and computer lab estimated to cost700 million shillings.
According to the chairperson of former students of Buyanja Grammar School and speaker of Buyanja Town Council Hon. Anthony Nshoborokigwe, as Buyanja Grammar school team, decided to engage in the cleaning exercise to mobilize and requested people to join and give them a hand towards the construction of a science and computer lab block.
He said people should learn to appreciate the good services Buyanja Grammar has offered especially in education sector for over 25 years and therefore urged parents, friends, and well-wishers to join them on 7th October and support the school.
Asiimwe Babra a teacher at Buyanja Grammar School articulated that the aim of cleaning the town was to improve and promote sanitation around Rukungiri town.
She said Buyanja Grammar School has provided quality education for over 25 years which isn’t a simple thing a reason why it should be celebrated and appreciated for thework done .
