Butuuro Youth SACCO delegates have been advised to be patient in life and avoid quick money that may land them into trouble.
The advice call was sounded by outspoken retired Rev. Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda while addressing a delegation of Youths from Butuuro Financial Services during their exchange visit to Rukiga Sacco which is supported by a Dutch organization ‘Agriterra’.
Fr. Gaetano who doubles as Rukiga Sacco’s founding chairman Board of Directors stressed that the youths these days want to get money by all means to the extent of stealing which may cause them problems.
He also sent strong advice to both SACCO management and Board members with loose hearts towards money to resign from their positions earlier and do other things instead of causing losses to the institutions they are entrusted to lead and govern.
The delegation of fifteen (15) youths leaders from Butuuro financial services was led by their Chairman, Mr. Kabakoreyo Derrick together with the company of SACCO Chairman Board, Chairperson of the Marketing & Human Resource committee, Ms. Namara Caroline, Mr. Charles Rukaijakare who represented the General manager and the Marketing & Business Development Manager Mr. Agaba Evason.
In their interaction, youths were taken through several life skills by the Rukiga SACCO founding Chairman Board, Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda, SACCO Chairman Board, Rev. Ivan Muhozi, Crescent Mugisha, Rukiga youth SACCO council chairman among other key presenters of the day.
Speaking with our reporter, members who attended the meeting said, they were impressed because the visit created a good platform to gain practical skills for doing different projects like piggery, pepper growing, Irish, and onions among others.
The visit ended with an assurance from Agriterra’s Manager in charge of SACCOs Mr. John Bosco Abaho saying that Agriterra is ready to fund their budgets as long as they come up with systematic activity plans from what was learned.
He implored them to put what was learned into practice as Agriterra is ready to offer the necessary support
