The Executive Director of Broadway Educational Consults Maanige Wenceslas on Sunday challenged Ugandans to prioritize educating their children as a way of fostering development.
He made these remarks while appealing to a congregation that thronged Katojo Catholic Church, Buyanja town council Rukungiri district for a thanksgiving mass of Mrs. Jacenta Kemishango who was celebrating her 76th birthday.
Mr. Maanige Wenceslas said that many parents still show little interest in educating their children, yet education is the key to development and success.
He said through education, the educated can get jobs and be in a position to support themselves, relatives, friends, and church activities as well.
Jacenta Kemishango the birthday celebrant said she decided to thank God for the protection and for enabling her to reach the age of 76th noting that it’s been a long journey because she lost all her parents when she was still young but God helped to raise her.
She asserted that all the funds collected from Thanksgiving should support constructing a rectory at their new Katojo catholic parish.
Sister Sabinah Tumusiime who is a daughter to Jacenta Kemishango, commended all the church priests for honoring the function and all other people who managed to turn up to join her mother to celebrate her birthday.
She said her mother being 76 years old is not simple, a reason they had to thank God. Money worth 7,380,000 shillings was collected in the thanksgiving.
