Bishop of West Ankole Diocese Right Rev.Johnson Twinomujuni on Thursday commissioned and handed over the newly constructed girls’ dormitory at Bweranyangi Junior School in Bushenyi District with a call on believers to desist from all forms of corruption.
The new William Magambo dormitory accommodates 200 pupils and was constructed by N&M Construction Company LTD at the tune of 196 million Uganda shillings.
Bishop Twinomujuni asked parents to take kin interest in this short holiday to know what their kids are learning at school as this will help to shape their future and know how to live but also know how to make a living.
According to the former bishop of West Ankole Diocese William Magambo since 1997 when he was the diocesan head and the chairman management committee, the school had several challenges ranging from lack of dining space, poor academic performance, and shortage of water among others.
Mr Isaac Katondore the school headmaster said the school decided to build a new girls’ dormitory because of the increasing number of girls in school that needs to be accommodated.
The school started in 1924 as a girls’ junior school until 1966 when it was merged with to become Bweranyangi mixed Primary school under Mr Kweronda Asaph as their first headmaster.
In 1986 a boarding section was introduced and the name changed to Bweranyangi Junior School under Mr. John Njoki to date.
