The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese Rt Rev Onesmus Asiimwe has implored Religious leaders to focus on preaching the word of Jesus Christ that saves people from immorality.
This was contained in his remarks on Wednesday while hosting representatives of Christians of Kiyaga Church of Uganda parish at his residence located at North Kigezi Diocesan headquarters.
A group of Christians headed by their Rev Rodgers Ntorainwe visited the Bishop to welcome him and his wife Florence Asiimwe as their lead pastor under Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano where they belong.
Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe disclosed that a summit of over 1,300 Bishops and Church Leaders from 52 countries organized by Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) converged in Kigali Convention Center last week and resolved to part ways with the church of England
He added that they resolved to part ways with the church of England after its Synod agreed to start blessing same-sex marriages.
Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe noted that the summit asked the House of bishops to focus on the future of the Anglican Church of Uganda and asked religious ministries to embrace preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in line with fighting homosexuality.
The Kiyaga Church of Uganda parish priest Rev Ntorainwe Rodgers welcomed the idea of parting ways with the church of England for supporting immorality and vowed to condemn homosexuality in his preaching.
