A 22-year-old bar attendant at Lagos Bar and Lodges in Kihihi, Kanungu District, has died under unclear circumstances, authorities have confirmed.
The deceased, identified as Tukamushaba Evalyne, was found unresponsive in her room on Tuesday morning. According to police reports, Evalyne had requested a key to rest at around 1:00 AM on March 24, 2025. Her sister, Akampurira Patience, later found her at approximately 3:00 AM lying face down, fully clothed, and uncovered. Upon attempting to turn her, Patience noticed foam coming from her mouth and blood from her nose.
Alarmed by the situation, she immediately notified the bar manager, Niwamanya Amos, 25, who quickly arranged for transport to Kihihi Health Centre. Unfortunately, Evalyne passed away while waiting for medical attention.
Kihihi Police Station was alerted about the incident, and a team of detectives, along with Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), visited and documented the scene. A postmortem was conducted, and the body was later handed over to the family for burial.
Authorities have preserved samples of some internal organs for further forensic analysis as investigations continue to determine the exact cause of death.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson ASP Maate Elly confirmed the incident, stating that police are committed to establishing the facts surrounding Evalyne’s sudden passing.
