The body of an 8-year-old pupil at Kafunjo primary school in Buyanja sub-county was yesterday retrieved from the stream that separates the two parishes of Nyabitete and Nyakaina after he drowned on his way from school
Akandwanaho Surprise, was on his way home from school when he failed to cross the small bridge on the stream and fell into the water
The P1 pupil had left school around 16:20 along with other pupils at the end of the day’s lessons
Teacher Julius Katunguka who was on duty says fellow pupils made an alarm which attracted the school authorities and parents around who traced for and retrieved the body.
Relatives were advised by police to proceed with burial arrangements
