54 Primary school Teachers and headteachers from Nyarushanje subcounty Rukungiri district who have been undergoing a digital literacy Training at peer Link Initiative field office in Nyarushanje Rukungiri district will receive their certificates on Wednesday 19.10.22
The three week intensive training that started on the 03rd of October 2022 was aimed at equipping teachers with skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel , Powerpoint, Content Creation and Introduction to internet.
The training is part of efforts to boost digital literacy in Rural Areas spearheaded by Peer Link Initiative Uganda.
PeerLink Initiative Uganda (PELI-U) is an NGO working to contribute to the socio-economic empowerment of children, youth, and women through a community library and empowerment center model that provides access to information, skills development trainings, sexual reproductive health and reproductive rights (SRHR) programs, educational, cultural and recreational services.
Olivia Mugabirwe the executive director PeerLink Uganda initiative says the training will be rolled out in a bid to strengthen Digital literacy
The function to award certificates to those who have succesfuly completed the training will be held at the Field office in Nyarushanje and is expected to be graced by the LC3 Chairman Nyarushanje subcounty ,Senior Assistant Secretary Nyarushanje subcounty and LC1 chairman Ngarama cell where PeerLink Initiative Uganda is located.
