A 3 year old boy has this morning perished in a fire that gutted a home in Rutunga cell, Kyabashenyi ward, Nyamunuka Town Council, Ntungamo District.
The toddler only identified as Mujunante by residents was burnt to ashes in a suspected case of Arson which also left his mother identified as Katushabe Nazifa in critical condition.
Katushabe who is in her early 30’s was rushed to Nyakibale Hospital in critical condition
According to Komuhangi Winnie an eye witness who is a neighbor to the ill-fated family in Kyabashenyi Trading Centre, the residents were still sleeping this morning when they heard an alarm for help.
She says they managed to rescue Katushabe and rush her to Nyakibale hospital, but the son was already burnt beyond recognition .
A senior citizen, Mutabingwa Bernards 75 says he suspects that the fire was intentionally started by the family head only identified as Sadamu son of Buda of the same area.
The young family has for long been dogged by fights and wrangles according to neighbors .
Police had arrived at the scene by press time but no comment was given to reporters
