A 20year old Boy has been charged and remanded to Kitalya Government Prison; for his role in the armed robbery of 48million shillings from an Electronic Shop; and murder of two people on the evening of 19th/October/2021 at Bunura Cell Southern Division in Rukungiri District.
Twinomugisha Dominic aka Dogo a self employed resident of Kateete Central Cell, Southern Division in Mbarara City; appeared before a Seven Member Panel of the General Court Martial sitting in Makindye and Chaired by Brig. Gen. Freeman Robert Mugabe.
He denied having robbed a one Kinkuhire Monic of the 48mshs and unspecified number of smart phones; and causing the death of the shop security guard Dukuze Daniel and Tayebwa Fred who saw them entering a Banana Plantation and tried to inquire what they were going to do there.
According to Prosecution; the owner of the shop was closing for the day when she was attacked and put on gun point; pushed back inside the shop and Twinomugisha together with others still at large grabbed the money bags; further broke display glasses containing smart phones and packed unspecified number into their bags and fled the scene.
The assailants were armed with an SMG rifle that they used to shoot the Security guard in the stomach as he was trying to confront them.
It was Police on Patrol that intercepted the accused person Twinomugisha Dominic around Nyakibale SACCO in Rukungiri Town; searched him and found the gun that had been used in the robbery and the two murders.
He was then arrested and detained.
He has been sent to prison until 13th/March/2023 for his trial to start.
