Police in Rukungiri District are investigating circumstances under which a young man in his 20s was found slaughtered in Nyakisoroza Trading Center, Kacence Parish, Nyakishenyi Sub County, Rukungiri District.
According to the locals, the deceased was identified as Nuwahereza Philipo a resident of Rwonyo cell, Rwanyondo Parish, Nyakishenyi Sub County who was recovered lying in a pool of blood today morning.
Nuwahereza Philipo had recently entered Nyakisoroza Trading Center working at Washing Bay and riding Boda Boda.
The Chairperson of Nyakisoroza Business Community Ntura Godfrey said that he was notified by Tax operators at around 4 am and he notified Police who rushed and retrieved the body, adding that the deceased had no bad record in their area.
The Nyakishenyi Chairperson LC3 Twinomujuni Wednesday condemned the act and attributed the incident to the increased gambling, and opium smoking in the area.
He revealed that they are going to embark on patrol and put time for opening and closing bars in the Sub-county to combat crimes.
By press time, police had not released a comment.
