Police in Rubirizi District are investigating the circumstances under which a fatal accident claimed the life of a 20-year-old man and left one in critical condition.
The fatal accident happened on 25/05/2025 at around 7:30 PM at Ndekye Trading Center along the Rubirizi–Kasese Highway.
Apollo Tayebwa, the acting Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the accident and identified the deceased as Thomson Aijuka, 20, a resident of Kacwampare Village in Katanga Sub-county, Rubirizi District.
Tayebwa further identified the injured passenger as Judith Nimusiima, 16, and a resident of the above-named address.
The deceased was knocked dead instantly by a yet-to-be-identified trailer as he was riding on a motorcycle registration number UGB 422Q.
It is alleged that the deceased, who was coming from Rubirizi heading to Kasese, was knocked by a trailer that was heading in the same direction.
Tayebwa said both the deceased’s body and the survivor were conveyed to Rugazi Health Center IV for postmortem and medical examination, respectively.
